Thursday, February 2 - Uncorked at Schaefer's. 5 - 7. Special exclusive preview event - Complexity arrives in Chicago! Complexity brings together 21 of New Zealand's top wineries with a single purpose - to establish that nation's serious wine credentials in the US. Join Janet Pouchot, Complexity's US brand ambassador, as she leads a Kiwi-fun tasting of some of the best Kiwi reds and whites! Saturday, February 4 - Enzo Brezza Tasting - Winemaker Enzo Brezza from Brezza Giacomo e Figli in Barolo will be pouring in the Boundary Room from 1-5pm. Enzo is in town as an honoree at this year's Chicago Slow Wine/Slow Food Awards. If you don't already know Enzo's
soulful, traditional Piedmontese wines, here's a chance to taste them
with the man himself. If you already know how great these wines are,
make your way over to Schaefer's this weekend and give Enzo a warm
Schaefer's welcome and taste some Cannubi Barolo while you're at it. Not
bad either way. The wines will be open from 11-5. Enzo and Joe will be
here live and in person between 1 and 5pm. He'll have samples of and be dusscusing his: Langhe Chardonnay 2010, Dolcetto d'Alba 2010, Langhe Nebbiolo Santa Rosalia 2009, Barbera d'Alba "Cannubi" 2008, and Barolo "Cannubi" 2007. The food department will be sampling some of Piedmont's great specialty foods, cheeses, meats and truffles. Hope to see you!
From Barolo to Super Bowl: Rumor has it Enzo is a huge Patriot's fan so naturally we will also be sampling football favorites for the big game. Load up on gameday favorites like our fantastic homemade guacamole, gourmet pizzas, chili and wing fixin's (Bigfat's Hot Sauces!), Schmeisser's burger patties, gourmet brats, Nueske's hotdogs, and an unmatched selection of American Micro and craft beer from the world over. Not to mention, enough cheese and sausage to make a Packer fan weep...again. Do it!

Thursday, March 1 - Uncorked at Schaefer's 5 - 7. Diana Endo from Vinifera Imports will be joining us this evening. She’ll have several wine selections as you taste your way through Italy. Salute! As always, deli treats will be at the ready. Stop by on your way home from work.
Thursday, March 8 - Uncorked at Schaefer’s 5 - 7. A Schaefer’s exclusive! Joe Jensen of Compass Wines leads a sit-down tasting of 2009 and 2010 Chateauneuf-du- Pape from importer Alain Junguenet. Limited to the first 20 paid reservations. $25 per person tasting fee which will be applied to any purchases made at the event.
Thursday, March 15 - Uncorked at Schaefer’s 5 - 7. Shane-apalooza. Join Shane Salois, portfolio manager/wine genius for Chicago’s Cream Wine Company, for an eclectic tasting of exciting new arrivals from Italy, Spain, Oregon and France. 5-7pm in the Boundary Room. No charge. Great snacks from the deli too. If you’ve never tasted with Shane, now’s the time.
Friday, March 16 Seated Tasting 7 - 9 - Rarities! Collectors' Alert! Limited to the first 30 paid reservations. We've dipped into some of the treasures of Schaefer's cellar for this very special evening. In several flights, we will present an amazing array of mature Beaulieu Vineyard Cabernets, some dating back to the late sixties! These will never again be available - taste these and make your cellar additions accordingly. Light hors-d'oeuvre. $50.
Wednesday, March 21 Diamond Creek Wine Dinner - Just Announced! Dine with Phil Ross, owner of Diamond Creek, as he guides you through a wonderful selection from this premier Napa property.
