Party planning and free loaner glasses. If you're in the Chicago area and planning a party, we're the best. We can take care of all the details. We also lend out glassware for free. We have wine glasses, champagne flutes, and bar glasses.
Rare wines. After dealing directly with the world's best wineries for more than 70 years, we have some pretty good contacts and access some of the rarest wines in the world.
Regular tastings and classes. Every Saturday, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., we host a tasting - our version of a "free lunch," and you're invited to stop by and sample from a range of 20 or more wines, half a dozen beers, many Cognacs and Single Malts, a table full of the freshest foods from our Signature deli, and just about anything else we can think of. Our history. George Schaefer Sr. opened the doors January 1, 1936, and we have been a fixture since then. Three of his dexcendants now run the show, and we have become a Chicagoland institution.
